This participant was an adherent of the ‘Hands Off’ movement and she took her stance in Midtown Detroit in order to do what she saw as the right thing.
The operatives of this movement believe that it is essential for their voices to be heard. They want to highlight that they are engaged citizens who are deeply concerned about the ongoing happenings within their nation. A strong sense of duty to represent themselves and their families fuels their commitment. They protest because they believe it’s necessary to show there are stark contradictions in what is presently happening and what they believe is right.
One of the issues these protesters draw attention to is the leadership style of the President and Elon Musk, who is leading the Department of Government Efficiency, also known as DOGE. Protestors reject what they perceive as the oppressive actions of wealthy and privileged individuals, fearing that without resolute resistance, the spirit of their nation risk succumbing to these forces.

He argued that the ongoing spending pattern fuels a rapid path to bankruptcy for the country. The demonstrators, in his opinion, weready to continue the hiring and spending spree until the country spirals into economic chaos.
Notably, the ‘Hands Off’ movement was not restricted to Detroit. Similar protests were reported by citizens across Michigan. The cities of Troy, Ann Arbor, Wyandotte, and Grand Rapids all saw demonstrations taking place.
Every protest echoed the sentiment voiced in Detroit, each unified by their shared cause. Though they took place in different locales, the same spirit of voicing dissatisfaction and calling for change prevailed throughout.
Despite the contrasts in viewpoints between protesters and some public figures, there remains a common thread: the shared concern for the current state and future of their country which they all hold dear.
