Trump Dismisses Epstein Case ‘HOAX’ As His Justice Department Interviews Ghislaine Maxwell

President Donald Trump on Thursday denounced renewed Democrat focus on the Jeffrey Epstein scandal as a politically motivated hoax, calling the controversy a “Democrat CON JOB” aimed at distracting from the historic success of his administration.

In a Truth Social post, Trump ripped into what he described as a familiar pattern of left-wing smears, comparing the current media hysteria around Epstein’s client list to the now-discredited Russia collusion narrative that plagued his first term.

“The Radical Left Democrats are doing everything in their power to distract and obfuscate from our GREAT six months of service to America,” Trump wrote. “They have gone absolutely CRAZY, and are playing another Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax but, this time, under the guise of what we will call the Jeffrey Epstein SCAM.”

The president said he hopes the release of grand jury records — which his administration has requested through formal legal filings — will “put an end to this HOAX” and reveal who has truly been involved in wrongdoing.

“Everyone should see what is there,” Trump added, “but people who are innocent should not be hurt.”

The remarks came just hours after Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche personally met with Ghislaine Maxwell at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Tallahassee, Florida. Maxwell is serving a 20-year prison sentence for her role in procuring underage girls for Epstein, the late billionaire pedophile whose suspicious 2019 jail death ignited widespread public speculation and anger.

Blanche, who served as one of Trump’s attorneys during his first post-presidency legal battles before joining the Justice Department, confirmed that he conducted a preliminary interview with Maxwell and will continue the session on Friday.

“Today, I met with Ghislaine Maxwell, and I will continue my interview of her tomorrow,” Blanche announced. “The Department of Justice will share additional information about what we learned at the appropriate time.”

Maxwell’s attorney praised the administration’s transparency, saying his client would testify “truthfully” and welcomed the president’s pledge to uncover the full truth surrounding Epstein’s activities.

Trump has previously authorized Attorney General Pam Bondi to pursue full disclosure of Epstein-related evidence. Bondi has filed motions seeking to unseal long-hidden grand jury transcripts from the original Epstein and Maxwell cases — documents believed to contain key testimony from possible co-conspirators, alleged victims, and witnesses.

Despite the Trump administration’s aggressive push for transparency, many Democrats who now claim to want answers were notably silent on Epstein during the Biden years. House Republicans have pointed out that efforts to release Epstein’s flight logs and other case materials were routinely blocked or ignored by Democrats when they controlled Congress.

This week, the House Oversight Committee subpoenaed Maxwell for a formal deposition, which is scheduled to take place on August 11 at the Tallahassee prison where she is held. The move followed growing public and political pressure for more accountability, particularly from conservatives demanding to know why so many powerful names associated with Epstein’s network have remained untouched.

Trump’s messaging reflects an administration eager to expose the truth — while defending innocent people from being used as pawns in another Democrat-led political circus.

With Congress now applying pressure, and Trump’s DOJ pushing forward on every legal front, the Epstein case is finally getting the scrutiny that many Americans have long demanded — but under an administration that says it’s not afraid to reveal the uncomfortable truth.
