Former President Donald Trump announced his belief on Tuesday, July 11, that Hunter Biden should be executed on account of his tax fraud and falsifying a gun permit.
On June 20th, 2023, fifty-three year old Hunter Biden agreed to plead guilty on two misdemeanor charges of federal income tax fraud, and another deal relating to a felony gun charge.
Republicans enjoyed this and claimed it to be “sweetheart deal”, and are also questioning the prosecutor, David Weiss.
Weiss, who was appointed by Trump as U.S. Attorney for the distinct court of Delaware, insisted on Monday, July 10th, that he had already reached his conclusion by himself– despite the two I.R.S whistleblowers stating that the process was corrupted.
But Trump disliked his conclusion and the plea agreement, stating that he should have put Hunter to death.
However, the death penalty is not a legal option for either tax fraud or gun charges.
‘Weiss is a COWARD, a smaller version of Bill Barr, who never had the courage to do what everyone knows should have been done,’ Trump stated on his social media platform, Truth Social.
“He gave out a traffic ticket instead of a death sentence.”
Despite Trump, who himself having appointed Weiss, the former president lays the blame on the two Democratic senators for Delaware; Chris Coons and Tom Carper, who had recommended him.
‘Because of the two Democrat Senators in Delaware, they got to choose and/or approve him,’ wrote Trump.
‘Maybe the judge presiding will have the courage and intellect to break up this cesspool of crime.
‘The collusion and corruption is beyond description. TWO TIERS OF JUSTICE!’
During all the fury and accusations caused by Republicans, Weiss stood up and said on Monday that he had been reassured by the Justice Department that he would have the power to press charges outside his Delaware district against the First Son, in the event that he would like to.
The U.S. attorney displayed his powers in black and white in a letter to Republican Senator Lindsay Graham, after the South Carolina senator wrote and formally asked him to outline the allegations from an IRS whistleblower that he was refused special counsel status.
“I have not requested Special Counsel designation,” Weiss stated.
“I was assured that I would be granted this authority if it proved necessary,” he continued.
“And this assurance came months before the October 7, 2022, meeting referenced throughout the whistleblowers’ allegations.”
Weiss went on to say that he has “never been denied the authority to bring charges in any jurisdiction.”
But questions arose about the extent of Weiss’s authority succeeding IRS agent Gary Shapley, a whistleblower, alleged that Weiss had attempted to bring charges against Hunter Biden in Washington DC, but was stopped by the DC’s top federal prosecutor Matthew Graves, in whom was appointed by Biden.
This means that Weiss would have needed cooperation from the Central District of California and Washington DC in order to file charges there.
Shapley stated that Weiss was denied such permission.
However, Weiss insisted that he had been reassured that if had requested, he would have gotten permission.
Shapley’s lawyers went on to accuse Weiss of switching up the story.
“U.S. Attorney David Weiss’s story continues to change,” Shapley’s legal team argued in a statement.
“As a practical matter, it makes no difference whether Weiss requested special counsel or special attorney authority. Under no circumstances should ‘the process’ have included the political appointees of the subject’s father, because Congress and the public had been assured it would not – but it did.”
In an interview with Fox News in June, Shapley described a meeting held on October 7th, 2022 with high ranking IRS and FBI officials concerning the Hunter Biden case.
“I was there, and I witnessed this personally,’ Shapley said, noting Weiss started by saying ‘he’s not the deciding person whether or not charges are filed or not.”
Shapley maintained that the final decision was made by the officials in Washington DC. He further noted that Weiss met with Matthew Graves, a US Attorney for the District of Columbia, who was appointed by current President Joe Biden, In March of 2022.
“After that occurred, he was no longer looking to charge,” Shapley said.
Shapley pointed out that Weiss said that he had requested special counsel authority, but was declined in the end.
‘I even had him repeat that, because I knew how important that fact was, and I wanted to make sure I understood it,’ he stated.
Weiss was given full authority to make decisions independently, and that angered Shapley, stating that “[this] constitutes an attack on an institution that is essential to American democracy”
