Trump Says He Supports Israel Attacking Iran Again As He Welcomes Netanyahu To Mar-A-Lago

President Donald Trump made it clear Monday that he would support another Israeli strike on Iran, particularly if the regime continues to advance its missile or nuclear programs.

Hosting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the sixth time this term at Mar-a-Lago, Trump responded directly to a reporter’s question about backing potential military action. “The missiles, yes. The nuclear, fast,” Trump said. “One would be yes, absolutely, the other was, we’ll do it immediately.”

Trump didn’t mince words about Iran’s current state either, describing the regime as “vicious” and calling attention to its brutal crackdown on domestic protests. “Every time they have a rioter or someone forms a group, little or big, they start shooting people. You know, they kill people,” he said.

The comments came as Iran’s currency collapsed to historic lows, triggering mass protests and strikes across Tehran. As of Sunday, the rial had fallen to 1.42 million to the U.S. dollar, sending shockwaves through the country’s already embattled economy.

Trump’s meeting with Netanyahu follows recent developments on the Gaza front, where a Trump-brokered 20-point peace framework led to the release of all living hostages held by Hamas and the return of the bodies of all but one of the deceased — Ran Gvili.

Over the weekend, Gvili’s parents met privately with Netanyahu, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and top advisors Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff. “The return of Ran is of great importance to President Trump,” the family was told. “Significant efforts are being made to bring him back.”

“We have one wonderful young man whose parents are right here now inside,” Trump said. “He’s the only one left, and we’re doing everything we can to get his body back. The parents just said, hopefully he’s alive, and I said, ‘I love you to think that way.’”

Earlier Monday, Netanyahu also huddled with Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth before the main meeting with Trump.

Netanyahu’s U.S. visit coincides with Israel’s announcement of a bold $108 billion investment plan aimed at developing a fully independent domestic arms industry. The move comes amid intensifying debate in Washington over continued foreign military aid to Israel — especially from a progressive bloc demanding stricter oversight.

The 10-year Israeli plan seeks to expand homegrown munitions production and defense innovation, cutting reliance on foreign sources “including friends,” Netanyahu said.

Currently, the U.S. provides Israel with around $3.3 billion annually to purchase American-made military hardware, in addition to $500 million for joint missile defense programs.

Among the latest defense breakthroughs is Israel’s soon-to-deploy Iron Beam laser system, capable of intercepting incoming drones, mortars, and rockets at a mere $2 per shot. That’s a massive cost savings compared to Iron Dome interceptors, which range between $100,000 and $1 million per missile. The Iron Beam is expected to enter service by the end of the month and is being jointly developed with U.S. defense giant Lockheed Martin, with portions of the technology now being adopted by the U.S. Army’s directed energy division.
