Trump Thrashes Media Over Russia Summit Critiques: ‘It’s Incredible’

President Donald Trump blasted the corporate press on Sunday morning, accusing them of deliberately twisting his efforts to bring peace between Russia and Ukraine. The rebuke came less than two days after his high-profile summit in Anchorage, Alaska, with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and just one day before his scheduled White House meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“It’s incredible how the Fake News violently distorts the TRUTH when it comes to me,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “There is NOTHING I can say or do that would lead them to write or report honestly about me. I had a great meeting in Alaska on Biden’s stupid War, a war that should have never happened!!!”

In a follow-up post, Trump argued that even if he struck a deal so favorable that it forced Russia to “give up Moscow,” the media and Democrats would still portray it as a failure. “If I got Russia to give up Moscow as part of the Deal, the Fake News, and their PARTNER, the Radical Left Democrats, would say I made a terrible mistake and a very bad deal. That’s why they are the FAKE NEWS!”

The president then pointed to what he described as a string of victories in other international hotspots, declaring: “Also, they should talk about the 6 WARS, etc., I JUST STOPPED!!!” Trump has recently touted his negotiations with several nations as successful peace-building measures, crediting his administration with halting conflicts that could have escalated further.

The sentiment echoed remarks made years earlier by former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, now serving as U.S. Ambassador to Israel. Huckabee once quipped during a Fox News interview that Trump could personally save tens of thousands of lives during the pandemic and still be vilified by the press, underscoring the administration’s view that no accomplishment would ever be covered fairly by mainstream outlets.

With Zelensky arriving in Washington Monday for more talks, Trump is doubling down on his message: the media may never give him credit, but he insists his administration is closer than anyone before to forging a peace agreement that could end the war in Ukraine once and for all.
