Trump Wants ‘Severe Consequences’ For Dems Who Pushed Russia Hoax: ‘Time To Go After People’

President Donald Trump called for “very severe consequences” on Tuesday for top Democrats—including former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden, as well as Hillary Clinton—over their alleged roles in orchestrating the now-discredited Russia collusion narrative.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump reacted to the declassified documents released last week by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, which he said “caught President Obama absolutely cold.” Gabbard also filed a criminal referral to the Department of Justice over what she described as a “treasonous conspiracy” to interfere with the 2016 election.

“They tried to rig the election and they got caught—and there should be very severe consequences for that,” Trump said.

According to the declassified materials, the Obama administration suppressed intelligence that Russia had no measurable influence on the outcome of the 2016 race. The documents further reveal that Obama-era officials pushed a knowingly false narrative tying Trump’s campaign to Russian interference—a storyline the media and Democrats relentlessly used to try to derail Trump’s presidency.

“Barack Hussein Obama is the ringleader,” Trump said. “Hillary Clinton was right there with him, and so was Sleepy Joe Biden, and so were the rest of them—Comey, Clapper, the whole group. They tried to rig an election, and then they got caught.”

Trump noted that during his first term he refrained from prosecuting Clinton despite chants from his supporters to “lock her up,” but indicated that the stakes have now changed.

“I let her off the hook, and I’m very happy I did, but after what they did to me, and whether it’s right or wrong, it’s time to go after people,” Trump stated.

Gabbard, a former Democrat and now the top intelligence official in the Trump administration, said the documents expose a conspiracy by high-ranking government officials to “subvert the will of the American people.”

Conservatives across Capitol Hill are demanding arrests, with many calling on the DOJ to prosecute officials involved in the alleged operation. The controversy has ignited calls for public testimony, and House Speaker Mike Johnson has said he’s open to subpoenaing Obama, Biden, and others named in the referral.

As pressure mounts, the Trump administration has signaled that more disclosures may follow. “This is just the beginning,” said a senior White House official.
