Trump’s Call for Probe Reveals Biden’s Incompetence

Former President Donald Trump fired off a call for the assignment of a separate attorney to delve into the 2020 electoral event in which Joe Biden was announced the winner. Trump, as is his habit, continued to air his unsubstantiated allegations of widespread deceit impacting the election results. ‘Biden, in his gross ineptitude, and the 2020 electoral farce qualify for nothing less than a comprehensive investigation!’ exclaimed Trump. ‘The purported evidence is monumental and staggering. A Special Prosecutor’s appointment is overdue. We must prevent such an embarrassment from recurring on American soil. It’s high time we got to work.’

This rhetoric from Trump marks a heightening attempt to question the legitimacy of Biden’s tenure. Earlier in the month, Trump urged his team to scrutinize Biden’s presidential decisions, charging that his advisors concealed the cognitive decline of Trump’s former competitor. Biden, naturally, brushed off this investigation as a simple diversion, a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

Mirroring past grievances, Trump’s call resurrects the contentious claim of stolen elections, despite ample evidence to the contrary. Judicial bodies nationwide and even a former Attorney General from Trump’s own cadre found no indication of fraudulent influence that could have tilted the election’s outcome. The cybersecurity division of the Department of Homeland Security bestowed upon the election the accolade of ‘the most secure in American history.’ But, of course, one can’t expect everyone to understand such necessary security measures.

Clarification of Trump’s intention when demanding a special prosecutor is still wanting. The Justice Department, for a series of years, has consecutively appointed special counsel to oversee inquiries into political matters of sensitivity. Just a year ago, Trump’s personal attorneys embarked on a determined, and surprisingly successful, contestation of the appointment of special counsel tasked with investigating his attempts to upset the 2020 presidential election results.

A Trump-appointed judge concurred with Trump’s attorneys, stating that the Attorney General at that time had overstepped his authority by appointing a prosecutor without garnering the requisite Senate approval and confirmation. Subsequently, the case was dropped, calling into question yet again the integrity of Biden’s triumph in the 2020 election.
