U.S. Justice Department Targets 35 Sanctuary Jurisdictions for Legal Action

The United States Department of Justice has allegedly come up with an extensive list containing 35 sanctuary jurisdictions, be it cities, states or counties that it plans to legally confront due to their negligence in complying with the federal immigration mandates. One of these jurisdictions purportedly includes Boston. The state of Massachusetts has earlier faced numerous challenges from Tom Homan, President Trump’s Border Czar, who in February vowed to vigorously enforce these mandates in Boston, a promise he managed to keep with over 1,800 detentions predominantly in the Boston vicinity between March and May.

The campaign included Operation Patriot, which led to the arrest of 1,500 unlawful offenders within one month. An acrimonious relationship has been reported between Homan and Boston’s Mayor Michelle Wu, dating back to Wu’s congressional committee address on Boston’s sanctuary rules. Former Sheriff Tom Hodgson of Bristol County ascribes the migrant predicament of Massachusetts to Governor Maura Healey, an issue that has reportedly already cost the state billions of dollars.

As per Fox News reports, ‘The Department of Justice pinpointed nearly three dozen states and cities across the country on Tuesday. These are places that were reportedly acting as refuge for illegal immigrants and the department warned that it plans to extend its legal action to more such places.’ The State Attorney General Pam Bondi made a statement claiming that sanctuary cities and states have principles that ‘hinder law enforcement and place American citizens in unsafe situations deliberately.’

Breitbart has recently reported that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is in the process of seeking custody of a 29-year-old undocumented immigrant hailing from El Salvador. This man is ‘prime suspect in sex crimes committed against children in the Massachusetts sanctuary state, that includes the charge of child molestation.’ Manuel Umana Solorzano was apprehended this week by the local police in the region of Milford, Massachusetts.

According to Breitbart, ‘Solorzano unlawfully traversed the United States-Mexico border at an unknown time and place, which makes him one among the multitude of illegal alien got-aways who manage to evade capture by Border Patrol Agents, each passing year.’
