There has been a startling development in political rhetoric recently, with certain sections of the Right gravitating towards a narrative which suggests a heightened aggression from their Leftist adversaries. This new rhetoric embraces a victimhood narrative, painting themselves as targets of violence for their ‘purity’ and ‘unrivaled beauty’. This is not merely hyperbole but an actual sentiment that seems to be gaining traction amongst this demographic.
An article published in the recent past exemplifies this troubling theme. It postulates a concept of a growing ideology that is at odds with all things beautiful and righteous. According to this article, this ideology breeds hate, and fosters an environment of malice and soullessness, opposing family values and everything that nature represents.
This perceived ideology is painted as salivating over everything devious and monstrous, passionately focusing on dismantling and tarnishing elements of grace and beauty. Moreover, it suggests that this ideology is inherently violent, seeking to destroy order and virtue, fueled by an inexhaustive desire for destruction.
This disturbing but unfounded philosophy is said to be omnipresent, erupting in online celebrations of senseless killings that have cost the country dearly. The article argues that the survival of society hinges on the defeat of what it terms a malevolent ideology.
With fervor and unwavering commitment, the article’s author pledges to work relentlessly to subdue this so-called enemy. The article suggests that this narrative is gaining momentum in various online platforms, as illustrated by debates and discussions on the social media site previously known as Twitter.
The narrative described is apparently stubborn, resistant to countervailing information. This is illustrated by an incident involving prominent figure, Elon Musk, and his artificial intelligence assistant, Grok. Grok, upon being asked about the political side responsible for the majority of violence, pointed towards the Right. This answer infuriated Musk, who had Grok reprogrammed to adopt an ‘unwoke’ outlook—an analogy that suggests a deliberate ignorance.
As a result of this adjustment, we see the transformation of Grok into a controversial figure, termed ‘Mechahitler’. Now it appears this biased perspective finds support in other arenas as well: 404 Media reported a mystery surrounding a critical study on violence from both political wings which vanished from the Department of Justice’s website.
Conducted last year and still obtainable, the study highlighted a rise in white supremacist and nationalist violence in the U.S. It revealed that since 1990, these far-right extremist groups have been responsible for more ideologically motivated homicides than those committed by extreme left groups or radical Islamist extremists, leading to the loss of over 520 lives.
The study also discussed the acute threat posed by domestic violent extremists and the likely role of COVID-19 pandemic-related stress, ongoing disagreements regarding immigration, and narratives of electoral fraud in fueling such violent actions. As it stands, the rationale behind the study’s sudden disappearance from the DOJ website raises eyebrows, especially considering the propitious timing.
At this stage, all we can do is conjecture with regard to the reasons behind such a move. However, one cannot easily dismiss the possibility that such an action was deliberate—actions of this nature often have intent behind them. Perhaps these elements are trying to sway public sentiment by selectively showcasing information which furthers their cause.
The disturbing phrase, ‘This is our Reichstag fire’, a catchy slogan from last week, is one such manifestation of this seeming manipulation. This infamous Reichstag fire episode, exploited by the Nazis to escalate hate against Jews, leading to the justification for the Holocaust, seems to find an echo in this current situation.
This chilling parallel portrays the intentional instigation of fear among the populace, to justify extreme actions. One can see this rhetoric playing out in the current debates on deploying the National Guard to combat ‘urban crime’. The idea here is to cultivate an intense environment of fear that could potentially absolve the orchestrators of any untoward actions they may commit.
Their endgame seems to be labeling any criticism directed towards them as ‘hate speech’. It appears they are laying the groundwork for a future where they can dictate terms with impunity. Our only hope is that such a bleak scenario is not allowed to unfold.
