On a recent broadcast of CNN’s ‘State of the Union’, the venerable Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina (R-SC) frankly identified President Joe Biden as the ‘foremost risk to our democracy presently’, holding him accountable for his extreme leftist-led strategy and intentional misuse of the justice system against his political adversaries.
In an engaging discussion, CNN Host Jon Karl tossed an inquiry at Senator Scott, who is listed among several potential vice-presidential candidates that Trump is considering. Karl broached the topic of 45th President Trump’s fresh remarks addressing the participants of the events that unfolded on the historic January 6th.
Karl directed his question to the South Carolina senator, wanting to understand whether he is in alignment with Trump describing those involved in the incidents on the day in question as ‘warriors’. The senator responded affirmatively, emphasizing that ‘Any individual who resorts to attacking an officer, irrespective of whether it’s within the Capitol premises or at any other location in the nation, should invariably face a prison sentence’.
He then further extended the discussion on those who did not participate in violent acts during the protests on Capitol grounds. The senator expressed his concerns about the people who simply expressed their rights to protest peacefully and stated that ‘These peaceful protesters, who wandered into the Capitol because the doors were wide open and haven’t committed any crime or created any problems, are facing pretrial incarceration’.
Scott further highlighted the disheartening plight of some individuals that have been in pretrial lockup for a period longer than the potential sentence connected to their purported crime. This scenario he found deeply troubling, showcasing a system that operates against the basic principle of innocent until proven guilty.
Changing gears in the conversation, Senator Scott threw a rhetorical curveball at the host, asserting passionately that ‘the prime threat to our democracy in the present context is indeed Joe Biden’. According to Scott, the seeds of this threat were sown when Biden assumed the role of the president.
The greatest threat to democracy today is Joe Biden.

A prime example, in the senator’s view, was the mishandled evacuation from Afghanistan, where tragically 13 brave Americans lost their lives. This, along with other instances, have led to Senator Scott’s stern criticism of Biden’s administration.
Furthermore, Senator Scott expressed deep concern over a porous South border which, to him, is glaringly unsafe and insecure. He stated, ‘We have potentially dangerous sleeper cells likely residing within our borders due to this inattentiveness. Among the over 100,000 Chinese nationals that have crossed the southern border, men hailing from Yemen, Iraq, and Afghanistan can now be found within our nation. They are part and parcel of the alarming influx of 10 million undocumented immigrants’.
The senator, despite being a former presidential candidate himself, has staunchly defended the certification of the 2020 election results. Addressing the CNN host, Scott underscored his dedication to standing firm by that decision.
In passionate anticipation of the ‘day of reckoning’ on November 5th, Scott told the host, ‘I will hold firm on this decision for the future, too, so as to assert the reality that Donald Trump will be reestablished as the president of the United States.’
In fact, he revealed the strategic plan to intensify efforts where early ballots are concerned, particularly in places like North Carolina, highlighting that the endeavor is going to kick off early, starting from September itself.
With unshakeable conviction, Scott concluded that the focus of the Republican party should be to ensure that the election results are both ‘clear and powerful’, assuring Americans of four more years of beneficial low unemployment rates, minimal inflation, unceasing enthusiasm, and principled presidential leadership.
Closing his strong argument, Scott articulated his belief that ‘The president who will garner respect, even incite fear when necessary on the global stage, will be none other than Donald Trump’. He instilled the vision of a dynamic future under Trump’s leadership, a narrative appealing to a conservative audience.
