Some unsettling revelations about former President Joe Biden’s conduct during important green energy policy declarations are expected to be laid bare in a congressional hearing scheduled for Wednesday. The hearing, dubbed ‘NGOs gone wild.’ is set to scrutinize allegations concerning the Biden regime’s philanthropy of billions of dollars to politically biased non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and the disconcerting use of autopen to enact far-reaching executive orders without any public announcement from Biden.
Biden’s conspicuous silence on his major climate policy changes, implemented through executive action, raises concerns about his cognizance of said policies. ‘President Biden’s interaction with the press was minimal from the start,’ noted Power the Future President Daniel Turner. ‘We could not locate a single instance of Biden articulating the purpose or necessity of these executive orders in his own words.’ The group’s only evidence was the orders themselves, believed to be endorsed by an autopen device.
These allegations are part of a broader argument Republicans are advancing against Biden, raising doubts about his role and even his awareness of the actions undertaken during his administration. The Justice Department also delves into the mystery of Biden’s autopenned signatures of pardons, including those implicating political allies and family members.
Power the Future, advocating for energy industry workers, focuses its attention on Biden’s climate change and energy-related initiatives. They identified eight crucial actions Biden signed without making any public reference. These actions included an all-encompassing offshore drilling ban, a stringent direction for the federal government to achieve ‘net-zero’ emissions by 2050, and a requirement for carbon-free electricity by 2030.
Several other impactful actions all came under Biden’s purview but were never discussed publicly. These include a preference for federal hiring of AmeriCorps alumni, the establishment of a ‘Climate Change Support Office’ within the federal system, and a mandate for all federal entities to evaluate climate-related financial risks. One wonders what induced such silence from Biden on these critical decisions.
One standout decision was the offshore drilling ban issued on Jan. 6, 2025. This monumental ban covered an astounding 250 million acres off the West Coast and 44 million acres in Alaska’s Northern Bering Sea. Yet, this major declaration warranted merely a written statement from Biden and a White House fact sheet. One cannot help but reflect on Biden’s choice of priorities when he chose to remain silent during his visit to New Orleans on the same day, following an attack that claimed 14 lives.
Other policies, such as the executive order on clean energy in data centers, were issued in the waning days of Biden’s tenure, followed closely by the AmeriCorps EO. Again, these critical orders merited no acknowledgment from the former president. The question of Biden’s awareness of these actions retrospectively cast a shadow of doubt on the Defense Production Act order that was authorized earlier on June 6, 2022.
House Speaker Mike Johnson’s anecdotal encounter with Biden reveals an alarming possibility of Biden’s lack of knowledge about his own executive actions. Johnson recalls confronting Biden about a liquid natural gas export ban only to have Biden vehemently deny signing it. Initial interpretation suggested a lapse in memory but recent revelations hinted at Biden having no recollection of signing the ban at all.
Serving as a stark counterpoint to Biden’s contested leadership, President Donald Trump has now rescinded all eight questionable executive actions. Biden’s representatives, in line with their former boss’s approach, have not extended a comment.
Beyond the autopen debacle, the massive spending of taxpayer billions for NGOs will also be a key focus of the hearing. The close alliance between Jahi Wise, a staffer from an NGO called the Coalition for Green Capital, and the Biden Environmental Protection Agency, enabled the direction of $27 billion in green energy funding. Following Wise’s appointment, he conveniently directed $5 billion in grants back to his own organization.
Adding to this mismanagement of public money, Power Forward Communities, a newborn organization, was gifted almost $9 billion of taxpayer money. Worryingly, $2 billion of this went to an entity tied to failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, which shockingly had only $100 in its bank account. Taxpayers must cynically regard how their hard-earned money was used indiscriminately by these NGOs.
The hearing will also include a testimony from the Center for Immigration Studies Executive Director. The Director will highlight how taxpayer money incentivized and aided illegal immigration during the Biden era. As the number of individuals trying to cross the border reduced exponentially under the current Trump administration, the stark contrast between the two tenures cannot be ignored.
Biden’s era of giving preferential attention to left-leaning NGOs is reciprocated by President Trump’s staff. His chief of staff, expressing astonishment, shared how stunned he was to discover the extent of taxpayer money that was expended to ‘far-left NGOs’ during Biden’s term. VP JD Vance’s retort against criticism of his immigration stance from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops encapsulated the gut reaction of the current administration. Vance raised a disturbing question, ‘Are they really worried about humanitarian concerns? Or are they actually worried about their bottom line?’ Assuredly, these concerns will be aired in the hearing scheduled for Wednesday at 2 p.m.
