Devastated Maui Residents Horrified By What Biden Did At Long Overdue Speech

To say that President Joe Biden has sunk low in the esteem of Hawaiians is putting it mildly. The horrific fires on Maui have gone from being not addressed by the president to being addressed in the most insulting manner possible.

Since the fires began, Biden has taken two relaxing vacations and offered only $700 per household to victims while attaching to Ukraine in the gesture.

Asked by the press for a response to the tragedy in Maui, Biden has repeatedly offered “No comment” as his answer. Although the fires started on August 8th, Biden had no comment both on August 13 and 14 when questioned by the press. On August 15, Biden gave a speech in Milwaukee in which he forgot the name of the island in a U.S. state on fire.

On August 21, Biden issued a formal statement on the deadly wildfires and said he would be cutting his Lake Tahoe vacation short to tour the island and the recently-established government response efforts. The Federal Emergency Management Agency didn’t open its first relief center until eight days later on August 16th.

Finally, after three weeks, Biden made his way to Hawaii for a visit.

The National Pulse reports:

While en route to Maui, three weeks after the wildfire that devastated the Hawaiian island began, White House spokesperson Olivia Dalton said President Joe Biden will “make sure that he communicates to that not only have we been there since day one, has he been there since day one.” The false claim did not appear to be challenged by any of the corporate media in tow, traveling with the President.

The New York Times reported that Biden took a 20-minute helicopter flight over the damaged areas of Maui. Maui residents are not fooled by Biden’s statement or actions.

One island resident clarified what they thought about the late presidential visit with a yard sign. “Traitor Joe Must Go,” read the yard sign in front of one Maui home.

Volunteer Eddy Garcia slammed Biden’s visit as he handed out fruit to people made homeless by the fires. “The Biden visit was a public relations tactic,” he said.

“They failed us on every level,” he said, speaking about the response to the fires. “Their red tape, their bureaucracy.”

Other Hawaiians including a former teacher, Kristen Goodwin, described how she felt after such a comment on the Maui fire:

“There are no words in response to something like that. There’s a thousand people still missing on this island, business owners who want people to come back, and who is going to come to a secluded island with people still missing?

Daily Fetched reported that the community members have rallied together and have taken care of each other. It was several days before [the feds] came and helped. They shut down a road for no good reason except they didn’t want people trampling over [rescue and search] sites.

While official reports say the death toll stands at 114, many accuse the government and media of downplaying the destruction.

As The Daily Fetched reported over the weekend, locals claim at least 480 are dead, and the “morgues had run out of body bags.”

Meanwhile, videos and images obtained by the Daily Mail show authorities loading bodies into refrigerated trucks as morgues have run out of room.

Authorities are setting up mobile morgues on the island of Maui in Hawaii to deal with the death toll from the wildfires.

Residents say the death toll is at least 480, well above the official figure of 114.

Daily Fetched also reported on Biden’s insulting statements concerning his own experience with a home fire, completely belittling the horror faced by the citizens of Maui.

Daily Fetched noted:

Biden claimed he knew what it is like losing a home as he recalled a small kitchen fire at his home 15 years ago in an apparent attempt to compare it to people who had lost everything due to the Maui fire.

“I don’t want to compare difficulties, but we have a little sense, Jill and I, of what it was like to lose a home,” Biden said.

“Years ago, now 15 years, I was in Washington doing ‘Meet the press’… Lightning struck at home on a little lake outside the home, not a lake, a big pond.”

“It hit the wire and came up underneath our home, into the…air condition ducts,” Biden said. “To make a long story short, I almost lost my wife, my 67 Corvette, and my cat,” he added.

“This is the most despicable thing this president has ever said,” a restaurant owner in Kihei, Maui, told The Daily Signal. “How do you compare almost losing your f* Corvette to the children burned in their f* homes, man?”

Fox Business host Stuart Varney offered the colossal understatement that the White House reaction to the Maui fire made Biden look “out of touch.”

“He’s mentally exhausted by the Hunter investigation and the apparent pressures of the job. August has been a painful reminder of the growing problem of Biden’s age,” Varney stated. “His response to the Maui tragedy is one more reason to question his ability to do the job for another 6 years,” he continued.
