As Fox News continues to rule the competition and as its own employees celebrate various life milestones, Peter Doocy, the network’s combative White House correspondent, has made a significant statement about his life and family.
After the birth of their daughter, Bridget Blake Doocy, Doocy and his wife, Fox Business reporter Hillary Vaughn, confirmed that they are first-time parents. She measured 21 inches and weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce. According to reports, she is the first child for Vaughn, 32, and Doocy, 35.
“Meet Bridget Blake Doocy!” tweeted Doocy. asked @joebiden at the White House holiday reception for advice on being a new father. He said to “hold her tight.” Yes, please.
Exclusive photographs and a narrative about the happy event were published by PEOPLE magazine.
“I didn’t realize this until now, but I’ve been training for motherhood my entire career by trying to get lawmakers on Capitol Hill to respond to my questions. This job isn’t much different,” Hillary, a Fox Business reporter, told PEOPLE. “‘Baby Bridget – can you give us a comment? Are you hungry or gassy, or both?’ Trying to get an on-the-record answer is tough!”
“I knew where all the offices were for senators who used to be doctors. Sen. Barrasso (Wyoming physician of the year) saw me the day before I went into labor and told me to reach out if I ever needed anything. Luckily, I didn’t have to call him to catch the baby!” Hillary continued. “I’ve only been a mom for one week but it’s already the best assignment I’ve ever had. She’s stolen the show!”
Doocy revealed to the publication some name choices he heard from the administration at previous news conferences prior to the birth of his daughter.
“During a briefing last month, the press secretary gave me permission to name the baby Karine, and I joked we were considering naming the baby after the President: ‘Joe-sephine.’ But we can report here for the first time her name is Bridget Blake Doocy,” he told the magazine.
Fox News morning show co-host Steve Doocy, Peter’s father, added: “When I wrote a book on fatherhood, I highlighted a famous quote that, ‘There are three stages of a man’s life: he believes in Santa Claus, he doesn’t believe in Santa Claus, he is Santa Claus.’ Peter, congratulations, you just made it to fatherhood’s third round.”
“The day Peter was born at George Washington Hospital — not far from the White House, while his mother Kathy was having killer contractions — she turned and said to me, ‘When should we start a college fund?’ My wife was sounding like a Morgan Stanley commercial,” Steve quipped.
Other Fox News contributors’ families are also expanding, like “Outnumbered” co-host and former Trump White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, who recently started working again after welcoming their son, their second child.
“I’m so excited to return to Outnumbered tomorrow at 12 pm ET with Harris Faulkner and Emily Compagno. Blake & Nash are ready to watch their mommy,” she tweeted a picture of her baby boy.
The show itself tweeted from its account: “TOMORROW ON OUTNUMBERED: @kayleighmcenany is back on the couch with her DREAM TEAM.”
The former press secretary for the Trump campaign revealed that she has authored a book titled “Serenity in the Storm: Living through Chaos by Leaning on Christ.”
The book’s Amazon description reads as follows: “Kayleigh McEnany brings to life the key cultural and political issues of our time, from the fall of Afghanistan to the Supreme Court’s abortion decision, analyzing world events through the lens of faith and providing readers with Serenity in the Storm. Our world, without question, is experiencing aberrational times. The ravages and life-altering realities of COVID-19 that I worked through as White House press secretary were just the start of it. What followed was a series of history-defining events. From the fall of Afghanistan to the nationwide crime wave, we’ve all endured painful images of death, destruction, and chaos.”
