Geraldo Rivera, a former Fox News host, attacked Tucker Carlson again on Twitter on the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol Building and the war in Ukraine. Carlson was also fired by the network in late April.
In a Friday podcast conversation with comedian and commentator Russell Brand, Carlson claimed that he had spoken with Steven Sund, the Capitol Police chief on the day of the violence, but that Sund had since been sacked. He informed Brand that Sund corroborated Carlson’s claims, which he has made for more than a year, that federal agents were pervasive in the crowd that rioted at the Capitol on January 6.
Carlson also commended the former president’s position on Ukraine, stating that he appears to be the only significant political figure in Washington at the moment who opposes the conflict and wants it to end.
Rivera reportedly found it to be too much.
“Due respect to Tucker Carlson, but he’s as full of s**t about Ukraine as he was about January 6th,” he tweeted. “His smiley face doesn’t change fact Russia invaded sovereign Ukraine; 1000’s are dead, including women & children, the world order is assailed and Putin is a punk.”

Several Twitter users criticized Rivera for his comments.
“Geraldo you are wrong about both…. Ukraine and Jan 6th,” @nancylee2016 wrote, adding an insult: “P.S. A mustache is dirtier than a dog’s a**.”
“Look at the man in the mirror Geraldo. America has zero business being involved in this war period. Both countries are corrupt and both leaders are corrupt but heck so is Joe Biden. This crap is going to get Americans and our children laying dead in the streets!” said another.
Another user said, “I’d rather have Putin as my neighbor than you Geraldo.”
Another person asked: “Are you still around and butt-hurt that Tucker Carlson is wildly more successful than you ever thought of being?” after which three laughing emojis appeared.
Carlson expanded on his conversation with Sund in his interview with Brand.
“I had no thought in my head as I watched this happen on television and in the subsequent weeks that U.S. law enforcement or military agencies had anything to do with it. That never crossed my mind. I never thought there was a false flag or anything like that. I’m not a conspiracist by temperament. I never thought that,” Carlson explained.

“And then I interviewed the chief of the Capitol Police, Steven Sund in an interview that was never aired on Fox… but Steven Sund was the totally non-political… he was the chief of the Capitol Police on January 6th, and he said ‘oh yeah, yeah that crowd was filled with federal agents’,” Carlson said.
Regarding his opinions on Ukraine, he began by saying that he “loves” Trump and that he thinks the former president is right on target with regard to how to handle the conflict.
“When I think about Trump right now, in July of 2023, I’m struck by his foreign policy views. Trump is the only person with stature in the Republican Party really who is saying, ‘Wait a second, why are we supporting an endless war in Ukraine?’” he said.
“Leaving aside whether Trump is going to get the nomination or be elected president or would be a good president, I can’t even assess that. All I can say at this point is I am so grateful that he has that position. He’s right,” he continued. “And everyone in Washington is wrong, everyone, and Trump is right on that question, and it is a big question.
“That war is reshaping the world, reshaping the economy of the world; it is reshaping the populations. I was just in Romania last week, which of course, shares a border with Ukraine. The refugees in that region, the number of people killed,” he added.
