Despite many Republicans expounding the notion that former President Donald Trump cannot beat Joe Biden in 2024, numbers tell a different story. Many Republicans have stepped out for the nomination, but only one has soared in the polls.
Trump has led the field from the beginning, and although big money is behind Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, it’s clear that the Republican voters want their president back.
The Democrat legal attacks on Trump are going nowhere but to garner more support for the former president, and one of his family members-to-be is pointing that out in an interview with Newsmax.
DC Enquirer reports:
On Thursday, Kimberly Guilfoyle, fiance of Donald Trump Jr. and host of ‘The Kimberly Guilfoyle Show,’ joined Newsmax to discuss the ongoing presidential primary and the increasing shift amongst the Republican donor class to back Trump’s presidential run.
She explained on ‘Rob Schmitt Tonight’ that GOP donors are “coming in droves” to Team Trump as he continues to dominate the Republican field and other candidates are simply coasting off of his coattails.
According to FiveThirtyEight’s polling average, President Trump enjoys the support of 56.9 of the GOP electorate. No competitor comes close.
Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) sits second with 14.1 percent, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley (R-SC) has 8.0 percent support, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy (R-OH) has5.8 percent support, former Vice President Mike Pence has 3.8 percent support, and former Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) has 3.1 percent support. All other candidates have a polling average of two percent or below.
“All of those big donors are coming in droves to him,” Guilfoyle explained. “He has a big fundraiser tonight at Mar-a-Lago and a private donor dinner tomorrow night.”
“The cash is flowing in,” she said. “So the American people out there should follow the money because the smart money and the base is entirely behind President Trump.”
DC Enquirer continued that Guilfoyle went on to explain that Trump has momentum in the presidential race despite the current $250 million New York civil case brought by Attorney General Letitia James (D-NY) meant to sidetrack the former president.
“But he’s undeterred, and he is really just marching towards victory.
“No one’s going to be able to catch him at this point,” Donald Trump Jr.’s fiancee continued. “And hopefully, that’s a good thing that independents and disaffected Democrats who are tired of Joe Biden and the abysmal failure of his administration want a winner. They want someone that they know can get the job done. Trump did it before; he will do it again.”
“And one thing is for certain amid the chaos and terror that’s happening in the world right now, we need a strong leader back in who knows what he’s doing, and we must secure the border immediately,” she concluded.
According to Newsmax, Trump’s campaign has raised $24.5 million in the third quarter from July to September. In addition to the massive haul, the campaign currently has $36 million on hand for the conclusion of the primaries and upcoming general election campaign against President Biden.
DC Enquirer notes that as President Trump continues to dominate the primary, GOP donors will realize that the grassroots are behind him, and they will be forced to give to his campaign if there is any hope of defeating Biden next November.
Last month Fox News reported Trump’s gains in regard to Hispanic voters, citing a recent Univision poll, which claims to be “the largest Hispanic bipartisan primary public polling of the 2024 election cycle so far.”
The September poll stated that among Hispanic Republicans, Trump maintains a strong lead, with 50% responding they would vote for him in the GOP primary. Meanshile, DeSantis follows in second place with 12% and Vivick Ramaswamy comes up in third with 9%.
The Fox report states:
“Despite four federal endictments, Trump is dominating among Hispanic voters and stands at 36%, a four point increase from when he left office in January 2021, as per a previous Univision poll.”
“Overall, the poll garnered 1,400 registered voters and 759 Republicans respondents making it one of the largest samples of Hispanic voters so far in the election cycle.”
ABC News cited a poll by Public Opinion Strategies that stated voters have concerns about Biden’s age and poor job performance, with fewer than 4 out of 10 voters approving of his handling of the economy.
By contrast, the same poll in September showed that concerns about Trump are exclusively related to the charges he is facing and fighting in several states that have been brought by Democrat Attorney Generals.
The charges, widely recognized as Democrat efforts to neutralize Trump as a candidate, have only succeeded in levying fines and have not resulted in any conviction of the former president.
The court proceedings in multiple states have Trump on the road constantly, campaigning and meeting court dates. The New York trial is set for Nov 6.
The question as to whether his trial in Georgia will be televised has arisen, and Trump has until Nov. 10 to issue his opinion to Judge Tanya Chutkin. .
