The filing also accuses Wolff and his legal team of engaging in bad-faith forum shopping and pursuing claims without evidentiary support. Melania Trump’s attorneys argue that sanctions are appropriate because the case unnecessarily forced her to incur significant legal expenses responding to what they describe as a meritless action.
The underlying dispute centers on Wolff’s public statements regarding alleged ties between Melania Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, claims the First Lady has repeatedly denied. Her legal team previously demanded that Wolff retract the statements and issue an apology, but instead of responding to the demand, Wolff filed the lawsuit that was ultimately dismissed.
