Jesse Watters, the latest host of Fox News’s prime time slot formerly held by Tucker Carlson, went on a furious rage during his program, fiercely criticizing the indictment of former President Donald Trump that was announced on Monday. Supporters of the previous President were drawn to Watters’ vehement criticism of the court process.
Trump also railed against the indictment in a new statement on Wednesday morning.
Special Prosecutor Jack Smith’s indictment cites four offenses related to the disturbances on January 6, 2021.
Before jumping into his scathing attack, Watters first went over the contents of the indictment in his broadcast.
“‘Impaired the federal government from functioning’… isn’t that literally the Republican party platform to reduce the ability of the federal government for functioning?” Watters cried out. “And then they say it’s a crime to ask Pence not to certify. I wonder if Pence would agree that that was a crime.”
“And then lastly they’re saying lying about an election is illegal. Well then, Hillary, lock her up!” Watters yelled.

As a result of the Special Counsel’s inquiry into the Capitol incident on January 6th, the former president of the United States was charged on four counts late Monday afternoon.
According to the accusation against Trump he will be charged with:
Conspiracy to Defraud the United States
Conspiracy to Obstruct an Official Proceeding
Obstruction of and Attempt to Obstruct an Official Proceeding
Conspiracy Against Rights
Smith signed the 45-page document, which has since been made public and contains specifics about the charges brought against Trump.
Former President Trump fired back on Wednesday morning in an all-caps post on Truth Social.
“THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!!! I HAVE NEVER HAD SO MUCH SUPPORT ON ANYTHING BEFORE. THIS UNPRECEDENTED INDICTMENT OF A FORMER (HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL!) PRESIDENT, & THE LEADING CANDIDATE, BY FAR, IN BOTH THE REPUBLICAN PARTY AND THE 2024 GENERAL ELECTION, HAS AWOKEN THE WORLD TO THE CORRUPTION, SCANDAL, & FAILURE THAT HAS TAKEN PLACE IN THE UNITED STATES FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS. AMERICA IS A NATION IN DECLINE, BUT WE WILL MAKE IT GREAT AGAIN, GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE. I LOVE YOU ALL!!!” Trump declared.
According to the accusations, Trump did “knowingly combine, conspire, confederate and agree with co-conspirators known and unknown to the grand jury to injure, oppress, threaten, and intimidate one or more persons in the free exercise and enjoyment of a right and privilege secured to them by the Constitution and laws of the United States. That is the right to vote and to have one’s vote counted in violation of Title 18 United States Code Section 24.”
On the other hand, there are no allegations of rebellion or seditious plot in the accusation against Trump. These particular accusations would be in relation to actions taken with the intention of toppling or opposing the government. The allegations instead center on obstruction, conspiracy, and violation of voting rights. Due to the lack of these accusations, it cannot be argued legally that Trump deliberately sought to start a revolution or topple the government.
On Tuesday, Trump railed against the latest charges.
“Why didn’t they bring this ridiculous case 2.5 years ago? They wanted it right in the middle of my campaign, that’s why!” Trump blasted out.
Trump’s campaign also released a statement on the latest development:
“The lawlessness of these persecutions of President Trump and his supporters is reminiscent of Nazi Germany in the 1930s, the former Soviet Union, and other authoritarian, dictatorial regimes.”
“This is nothing more than the latest corrupt chapter in the continued pathetic attempt by the Biden Crime Family and their weaponized Department of Justice to interfere with the 2024 Presidential Election,” the statement railed.
“But why did they wait two and a half years to bring these fake charges, right in the middle of President Trump’s winning campaign for 2024? Why was it announced the day after the big Crooked Joe Biden scandal broke out from the Halls of Congress?. The answer is, election interference!” the campaign declared.
Trump himself asked why the indictment came out right after Hunter Biden’s former business partner testified before a House committee.
“Also, why are they putting out another Fake Indictment the day after the Crooked Joe Biden SCANDAL, one of the biggest in American history, broke out in the Halls of Congress??? A Nation In Decline!” Trump posted.
As of right now, the U.S. Constitution does not expressly provide that a person who has been convicted of a felony is ineligible to be president. Trump would therefore not be constitutionally prohibited from seeking reelection or serving as president again, even if he were found guilty on these allegations.
Trump would have the authority to pardon himself for federal crimes if he wins the 2024 election. It would probably result in legal challenges and a probable Supreme Court judgment because this is a contentious legal topic and no president has ever tried to pardon themselves.
Trump might go to jail if he were defeated in the election and be found guilty of these offenses. Regardless of the results of the election, the judicial procedure would proceed, and a conviction might result in harsh legal consequences, such as time in prison.
