Emergency Powers in regard to government actions are usually enacted when there is a natural or other disaster, allowing governors or presidents to make quick decisions to help their constituency.
The United Nations, while not a governing body, describes most of its own functions in its charter as to “maintain international peace” “investigate any dispute” “recommend methods of adjusting disputes” “formulate plans” recommend action” and other terms that suggest an advisory capacity.
But in the charter of the U.N. is the phrase “to take military action against an aggressor”.
And now the far-left United Nations is trying to seize on ‘global emergency’ powers and is doing so with the blessing of Joe Biden.
This is alarming because the United States has come to distrust the U.N. since they have proven over the years that they do not have America’s best interests in mind. In September 2024 the U.N. plans a summit that will challenge freedoms for the U.S.
Scheduled to occur just before the next U.S. presidential election, the United Nations will host a landmark “Summit of the Future,” where member nations will adopt a Pact for the Future. The agreement will solidify numerous policy reforms offered by the U.N. over the past two years as part of its sweeping Our Common Agenda platform.
If you were astounded by the U.S. Federal Government’s attempt at mandates in regard to the pandemic, hold on to your hats. It seems the U.N. wants to tell the entire world what it can and cannot do in the case of another global pandemic.
Although there are numerous radical proposals included in the agenda, perhaps none are more important than the U.N. plan for a new “emergency platform,” a stunning proposal to give the U.N. significant powers in the event of future “global shocks,” or another worldwide pandemic.
Many of the details of the U.N. emergency platform were laid out in a March 2023 policy paper titled “Strengthening the International Response to Complex Global Shocks — An Emergency Platform.” Once triggered, the emergency platform would give the U.N. the ability to “actively promote and drive an international response that places the principles of equity and solidarity at the center of its work.”
Are you concerned yet? Even though the mandates and compulsory measures proved to be of no use and many of the claims regarding government-imposed initiatives during the pandemic have been exposed as false, the U.N. wants to take the control of individual lives to another level.
The UN would also reserve the right to extend the emergency as they see fit: Although the duration of the emergency platform would initially be set for a “finite period,” at “the end of that period, the Secretary-General could extend the work of an Emergency Platform if required,” according to the United Nations’ own policy proposal.
So, once enacted, the U.N. could continue to seize control as long as they want, i.e. indefinitely. And it seems that current President Joe Biden is supporting this agenda.
The Federalist reports that in at least two March 2022 speeches, U.S. Ambassador Chris Lu noted that the Biden administration backs this emergency platform, along with numerous other proposals included in “Our Common Agenda” effectively selling out the freedoms in the United States of America.
“The emergency platform would centralize an immense amount of power and influence, giving the United Nations greater control over the lives of Americans than it ever had before,” the Federalist noted.
The Biden administration’s agreement with these global maneuvers highlights the Democrats’ desire to undermine America’s independence and sovereignty and hand the country over to the power-grabbing United Nations. Another gathering of the U.N. this fall sees Biden pushing for more U.N. power.
In June, the Washington Post reported that “The Biden administration is consulting with diplomats from the organizations 193 member states to solicit feedback about a potential expansion of the powerful council [U.N. Security Council] ahead fo the world leaders’ annual gathering in New York this fall.”
Former President Donald Trump cautioned the U.N. against just such measures during his tenure.
When then-President Trump addressed the U.N. during his presidency in 2019, he made it clear that the United States is not interested in a “globalist” agenda.
“The future does not belong to globalists. The future belongs to patriots. The future belongs to sovereign and independent nations who protect their citizens, respect their neighbors, and honor the differences that make each country special and unique,” President Trump stated.
He added, “Freedom and democracy must be constantly guarded and protected, both abroad and from within. We must always be skeptical of those who want conformity and control. Even in free nations, we see alarming signs and new challenges to liberty.”
“There is no circumstance under which the United States will allow international entities to trample on the rights of our citizens…” Trump declared near the end of his 2019 speech.
