Steve Bannon offered some sobering details regarding former President Donald Trump’s 3rd presidential campaign and the challenges he will face in 2024.
The former president would witness “nothing but a war” in the 2024 general election, according to Bannon, who also prophesied “political warfare” over the coming years during a section of his “War Room” podcast. Bannon was Trump’s top White House advisor at one point.
“Get Prepared, we got a fight ahead of us,” Bannon warned. “There’s still the primary, the RNC and the donors are gonna try and [block] Trump, so we gotta get through that. The general election and I don’t have to believe Biden will be the nominee, I think they’ll trade him out, but we’ve got nothing but a war in the general election. We’ve got six to eight years ahead of us of absolute political warfare.”
As the GOP race is beginning to heat up, Bannon also lately grabbed headlines when he revealed some intriguing details regarding Trump’s likely choice for running mate.
On the “War Room” show, Bannon claimed to be an avid backer of Arizona Republican Kari Lake and said he would like her on Trump’s ticket. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., also a presidential candidate on the Democrat side but who is popular with conservatives and independents, may be Trump’s VP choice if Lake declines, according to Bannon.
Bannon noted that during a recent Q&A session, a question regarding Kennedy, Jr. was posed.
“Somebody asked about Robert F. Kennedy and the great speech at Hillsdale, his opening speech, and what did I think about his prospects,” Bannon said.
“And I said, ‘Look, I’m a Kari Lake person, but if Kari Lake becomes governor, as she should if this court case, or if not, she runs for the Senate. If she’s not available to be Trump’s VP that Bobby Kennedy would be, I think, an excellent choice for President Trump to consider. There was a standing ovation and this was a very hardcore MAGA war room posse crowd,” according to Bannon.
“I think that that is a signal to the political elites in this country that something very different is going on. And I thought it was quite extraordinary. Robert Kennedy Jr. has huge support for the American populist movement. Look for the GOP elites to start their attacks on Bobby any day now,” said Bannon.
“Robert RFK Jr. is not going to win the Democratic nomination. The reason is that hard-core Democrats are not going to vote for him,” Bannon declared. “If you look at the polling, his voters, that 19 to 20 plus percent, whatever it is right now in the polling, are people that voted for Obama twice looking for a change and many of whom voted for Trump in ’16. What you have is this anti-establishment, anti-authoritarian, populist movement that doesn’t trust the administrative state, doesn’t trust the deep state.”
Bannon told his fans to listen to “Judas Pence. Listen to these guys. Listen to all the Keebler elves and then listen to what Robert F Kennedy is talking about. And you see the Venn diagram. There’s a much bigger overlap, potential overlap with what President Trump’s talking about. So this is something that’s emerging and you got to keep your eye on it. Is it perfect? No. We live in a very imperfect world. But you see something that’s aborning right here.”
“So there’s something abhorring here and we’ve got to keep our eye on it. This is very much like, as John Fredericks remembers in ‘14 and ‘15 when we were talking about this and this guy named Trump that, you know, was a leading something that was just, you know, starting to coalesce,” Bannon added.
“And of course, people mocked and ridiculed it. He’s just a TV guy. All he’s trying to do is renegotiate his deal with NBC. No, that was incorrect,” Trump former top advisor concluded.
In a late-night posting frenzy on his social media network Truth Social, Trump attacked Fox host Bret Baier, Ron DeSantis, and a number of other rivals.
After midnight on Tuesday, Trump posted something to Twitter that read, “MAGA, which is most of the Republican Party, is very angry at FoxNews for continuing to push Ron DeSanctimonious, no personality and all, and guys like Chris Sununu of New Hampshire, who couldn’t even start a presidential run because of zero poll numbers, whose got his father’s look, but not his father’s brain.”
In another, he stated, “In almost every poll, DeSanctimonious loses to Biden, while I am far ahead of Biden, Bret Baier of FoxNews (of course!) should have stated this fact during his SOFTBALL interview of DeSanctus,” criticizing Baier for his Monday night interview with Desantis.
“There are polls showing a 71 to 12 points up margin, but Fox just doesn’t want to go there. Why do you think I’m being Indicted every hour by the Left? I got DeSanctus elected, or he was “dead” at 3%, out of politics. Now he’s GONE once more, even with all of this CRAZY help from Fox – 2016 all over again!” Trump added.
