Trump Admin Celebrates ‘Swift Turnaround’ After Jobs Report Released

The Trump administration is celebrating a notable uptick in job creation following the release of the February employment report, signaling a strong economic rebound. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the economy added 151,000 jobs in February, with the unemployment rate slightly increasing to 4.1%.

One of the most significant highlights of the report was the resurgence of the manufacturing sector, which added 10,000 jobs, including 9,000 in the automotive industry—the most substantial gain in over a year. This marks a major reversal from the previous administration’s final year, which saw a loss of 111,000 manufacturing positions.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt praised the report as clear evidence of a “swift turnaround” from the economic challenges inherited from the prior administration. She emphasized that 93% of February’s job gains were in the private sector, reflecting renewed confidence among businesses and workers.

The report also highlighted job growth in health care, transportation, warehousing, social assistance, and financial services. Meanwhile, federal government employment declined by 10,000 jobs, aligning with the administration’s push to reduce bureaucratic inefficiencies and cut government waste.

Economist E.J. Antoni noted another significant development: for the first time in 15 months, job growth among native-born Americans outpaced that of foreign-born workers. This shift signals a positive trend for American workers, with more jobs being filled by U.S. citizens rather than outsourced or given to foreign labor.

Although the total job growth came in slightly below the projected 170,000 increase, the administration remains optimistic. The slight uptick in unemployment is attributed to more individuals re-entering the labor force, a sign of growing confidence in the job market and improving economic conditions.

These developments underscore the Trump administration’s commitment to revitalizing key industries, fostering economic growth, and putting America back to work. With a focus on policies that prioritize domestic job creation, deregulation, and economic expansion, the administration remains confident that this positive momentum will continue in the months ahead.
