In a thought-provoking discourse on a recent Thursday, Donald Trump, the former Presidential candidate from the Republican Party, unpacked some of the decisions made by Kamala Harris during her tenure as Vice President, explaining how they adversely impacted everyday Americans.
Trump reached back to the early phase of the Biden-Harris administration where Harris decisively swung the voting balance on the American Rescue Plan in the Senate. He underlined that this decision instigated the inflation crisis that has wreaked havoc on U.S. households for over three years.
Citing official figures, Trump spotlighted how the surge in inflation impacts the wallets of American families. He noted that the crisis has burdened families with an average debt of $28,000, with a continuing monthly increase of approximately $1,100 due to escalated costs in grocery, energy, insurance, and housing.
Discussing housing specifically, he revealed the painful truth that the price of mortgages had doubled under the Biden-Harris regime, an outcome of housing scarcity and spiraling interest rates. He pointed out that these rates were raised, ironically, to counter inflation, the very condition brought about by the administration’s capricious fiscal policies.
Trump did not shy away from shedding light on Harris’s latest offers either, contending that her recent pitch to introduce price controls reeked of communist principles. He conveyed his stance, stating that while he would not contest effective mechanisms irrespective of their ideological origins, in reality, price controls have failed the test of utility.
Elaborating on the grim outcomes unleashed by price controls, he drew parallels with the situations prevalent in the erstwhile Soviet Union or the current state of Venezuela, replete with food shortage, rationing, heightened inflation, and untold suffering.
He paralleled her proposed economic framework to the failed systems in socialist states, terming it ‘an unusual confession of her policy failures that have unleashed widespread economic hardship.’
Trump then moved on to additional markers which signified a worsening economy under Harris’s governance. He remarked that real wages slipped considerably, costing Americans on average $2,000 annually.
Equally worrying is the rising credit card debt reaching new, alarming heights and the significant drop in net wealth for an average family by roughly $33,000, as per Trump’s assertions.
The former President expounded his criticism by pointing out that newly created jobs mostly benefitted illegal aliens. He attributed this to the liberal immigration stance and open-border policy endorsed by the Biden-Harris administration.
According to him, since their time in office, a staggering 10 million undocumented immigrants slipped into the U.S., further straining the job market and public resources.
Addressing Harris’s political rallying cries, Trump touched upon her commitment to overhauling the healthcare system into a government-operated model, driving a harder line on the fossil fuel industry, and banning innovative practices such as fracking.
He underscored that her elaborate plans, while seemingly appealing, actually pledged taxpayer-funded benefits for millions of illegal migrants, and proposed steps towards ending immigration authorities’ existence.
He warned that such policies not only threatened the nation’s economic stability but also questioned the very principles of governance and rule of law.
In his speech, Trump painted a picture of a nation suffering under a leadership that advertisers progressive ideals but ends up harming its own citizens through misguided policies and actions.
