It has emerged that former President Donald Trump plans to elicit strategic counsel from the ex-Democratic Presidential hopeful and Representative of Hawaii, Tulsi Gabbard. This collaboration is primarily aimed at gearing Trump up for a potential debate encounter with Vice President Kamala Harris; this is information gleaned from sources within the Trump campaign.
Trump, despite furnishing countless instances of his capacity for unruly and disruptive behavior in debates, reportedly doesn’t feel the need for a conventional debate preparation. Instead, he has chosen to rely on consultations with policy advisers accredited for their credibility, and astute communicators like Tulsi Gabbard
Gabbard, in fact, was responsible for a memorable moment on the debate stage in 2020 when she outperformed and outmaneuvered Kamala Harris. This confrontation chiefly revolved around Harris’s track record as a prosecutor, a point of contention that led some to cast doubt on the viability of her campaign.
Following this particular debate, Harris, in an interview with CNN, took a rather presumptive stand as she asserted her own status as a ‘top-tier candidate’. She nonchalantly expressed her anticipation of the attacks she faced, attributing them to opponents who trailed in the polls, only making passing references to them with demeaning figures.
Harris’s performance during the debate drew criticism even from her own donors, as reported by The New York Times. While she chose not to openly dispute these claims, her campaign never really recovered from it and she pulled the plug a few months later, in December.
Something that has also been noted is an underlying plan of the Trump campaign. Similar to the tactics of the George H.W. Bush campaign’s infamous Willie Horton ad, it’s expected that they will highlight Harris’s dubious legacy as a prosecutor.
The Daily Beast attempted to probe further into these developments within the Trump campaign, reaching out for a comment. However, there has been no response on this matter until the publish time of this article.
